Description

About the role:

The Financial Analyst will have overall responsibility to direct and manage the organization in preparation of the Company’s Annual Client Forecasting Process, Annual Budgeting Process (applies to revenue), and Current Year Forecasts. This will include process development; communication; system guidance; presentation formats; and analysis of the same for accuracy, reasonableness, and completeness. This position will also be responsible for managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual internal financial analysis in support of C-level management with the goal to create understanding for internal and external stakeholders.


As a Financial Analyst with EMS|MC, you will:

  • Lead the analysis of EMS|MC’s ongoing revenue performance versus budget, forecasts, and prior years; and communicate results, verbally or written as needed.  
  • Lead the process to integrate external performance forecasting for clients with internal performance forecasting supportive of annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes. 
  • Assists the Controller in the process of preparing long and short-term plans, the budget, and forecasts for use with internal management and external parties.
  • Perform risk analysis on various operating assumptions to determine and recommend strategies for optimal performance, including tracking client performance and wins/losses.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in all areas of EMS|MC’s financial reports, development of financial models, and ongoing improvement in use of systems.
  • Lead interface internally to develop and confirm the assumptions used for budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring results with business units. 
  • Lead the review and compilation of business unit financial packages and serve as liaison and coordinator to business units during the budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Review allocation of T&E expenses by department to ensure accuracy and to compare actual expense to budget.
  • Prepare monthly payroll accrual and analysis to budget of all payroll expenses.
  • Assists department in any closing processes and financial statement review processes as necessary to serve as backup for other accounting roles.
  • Attends internal training sessions for knowledge sharing of financial information and techniques throughout organization. 
  • Stays current on methodology and tools to improve the decision-making process.


Requirements

You will be successful in this role if you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Finance or Accounting related field 
  • MBA or CPA preferred, but not required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in positions of increased responsibility for financial planning, analysis, strategy development, business unit controllership and corporate finance with exposure to “best-in-class” financial planning and analysis practices. 
  • Proven ability to influence internal departments and leaders not under direct supervision. 
  • Demonstrated aptitude in leading complex financial analysis and problem solving. The position requires experience in directing and creating financial models in Excel or similar software. 
  • Excellent leadership skills and experience in directing forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning processes; financial performance; and capital budgeting. 
  • Clear, concise, confident, and thorough understanding of the fundamental principles of accounting, financial statements, and financial analysis is required. Technical accounting knowledge to the extent necessary to understand, explain, and coach others on the inter-relationship between the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flows. 
  • PC and system support skills with experience in ERP and consolidation software considered desirable. Visionary leadership of the same is desirable. 
  • Must possess excellent computer skills and a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • The position also requires the ability to work under time pressure and in prescribed departmental deadline with occasional overtime required
