Description

The Senior Director of CRM Technology is a key role focused on the successful implementation and ongoing optimization of the Slate CRM platform for clients. While primarily responsible for Slate CRM projects, this position may also be involved in other CRM implementation projects as well as internal BWF initiatives. The role requires expertise in configuring, troubleshooting, and integrating Slate with other systems, as well as designing both front-end and back-end solutions. The Senior Director of CRM Technology will participate in data migration processes, develop custom workflows, and ensure system optimization. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and clients, providing tailored technical solutions based on specific client needs. As a part of BWF’s Technology and Operations division, this position offers opportunities to work with industry-leading experts and contribute to innovative solutions that transform nonprofit operations.


This position will work closely with clients to understand their unique needs and provide tailored, high-quality technical solutions. This position reports to the Associate Managing Vice President of Implementations and Managed Services and collaborates with clients, consultants, and support staff to ensure seamless project execution. As part of BWF’s Technology and Operations division, you will have the opportunity to partner with and learn from industry-leading consultants as they help clients discover solutions to their operations challenges.

Requirements
  • Manage the implementation, customization, and optimization of Slate CRM, ensuring seamless integration with student information systems (SIS), financial aid systems, and other external databases.
  • Support other CRM system implementation projects as needed.
  • Contribute to internal BWF initiatives that enhance CRM capabilities, operational efficiency, and data management strategies.
  • Lead data migration processes from legacy systems, utilizing SQL and other data management tools for accurate and timely data transfer.
  • Develop both front-end (portal, dashboards) and back-end functionality (API integration, SQL scripts) to enhance CRM usability and operational efficiency.
  • Use tools like Tableau and Power BI to develop dashboards and reports, providing insights that guide strategic decision-making and process optimization.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for clients, troubleshooting issues, managing system configurations, and delivering tailored technical solutions.
  • Provide training to clients and create documentation on Slate processes, ensuring users can effectively manage and utilize the CRM.
  • Lead CRM system architecture, data migration, and report-building processes for Slate CRM and other platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to integrate systems and ensure seamless data flow across platforms.
  • Conduct needs analysis, document requirements, and deliver scalable solutions based on client-specific requirements.
  • Provide troubleshooting for operational issues and collaborate with IT and business teams to resolve them effectively.
  • Stay up-to-date with CRM best practices and apply knowledge of new Slate functionalities and upgrades to enhance client projects.
  • Engage in pre-sales activities, writing proposals, and participating in client presentations as needed.
  • Meet goals by completing quality work efficiently. 
  • Contribute to company-generated thought leadership by creating written content and engage in speaking opportunities to promote expertise in philanthropy through company and industry publications, conferences, or events.
  • Participate in ongoing internal activities as a productive and active member of the company. These may include orientation and ongoing trainings, company-wide client review meetings, and other skill-building activities.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with Slate CRM or comparable CRM solutions, with a strong ability to configure and optimize CRM platforms.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data integration tools for managing databases and ensuring data integrity across systems?.
  • Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end functionality (API integrations, custom scripts) to manage portals and workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to build dashboards and reports using tools utilizing enterprise reporting tools.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience leading data migration and system integration projects.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and presentations skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to create a strong, positive initial impression and maintain a solid professional credibility.
  • Possess solid time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent working experience.

Compensation and Benefits 

Annual base salary range of $87,000 to $150,000 based on qualifications and experience.  This position is eligible for an annual performance bonus based on transparently defined performance metrics including client satisfaction, work quality, team attainment, and firm contribution metrics.

Work Environment/Conditions

  • This position can be remote or based in our Minneapolis office (locally based employees are expected to maintain a hybrid office presence).
  • Position requires ability to work in a stationary position for majority of workday.
  • Continuous use of computer.
  • Frequent communication with team and clients via zoom and in person.
  • This is an exempt position that requires at least 40 hours of work per week but due to the nature of this role, additional hours are required when deadlines need to be met.
  • Overnight travel to client sites, conferences, or company meetings is sometimes required (up to 35%).

Salary Description
