Who You Are

As a Life Science Development Program Manager, you will oversee and manage the development and construction of life science facilities. This role requires a blend of project management expertise, knowledge of technical environments, and construction management skills to ensure projects are completed to the highest quality standards. Work will be hybrid requiring on-site presence as necessary for successful collaboration and relationship building. Most projects will be located within the greater Seattle area.

What you will do:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of life science construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure project success.
  • Budget and Schedule Management: Develop and manage project budgets and schedules. Monitor progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet project goals.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations, AHJ requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor staff, project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of construction are maintained.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to the client and project stakeholders on project status, budget, and any issues that arise.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience required.
  • 15+ years of project management experience in construction or life sciences industry.
  • 3+ years of experience in management of professional staff and internal teams.
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of managing complex projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of technical environments and their unique requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and people simultaneously to meet deadlines.
  • Professional accreditation or certification required. Examples include: PMP, LEED, AIA, PE, GCCM, DBIA
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with high proficiency with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer and Excel required.
  • Experience with Construction Software including Bluebeam required.
  • Experience with proprietary project management software required. Microsoft Project experience preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment. 
  • Must be able to pass motor vehicle record check and comply with OAC's motor vehicle policy.

About the Firm

Founded in 1955, OAC provides public and private multi-disciplinary, building consulting services. OAC delivers comprehensive program management, applying proven management techniques to the planning, design, and construction of a project from inception to completion. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,000/year up to $187,000/year. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
