Description

Neuroscience Group is currently looking for an MRI Technologist to work with our team at a PRN / Casual status. The MRI Technologist operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used in the diagnosis and treatment of patient pathologies. Uses knowledge of imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy to create high quality images for interpretation by radiologists and other medical professionals. 


For over thirty years, Neuroscience Group has provided excellent neurologic care for the Fox Valley and Northeast Wisconsin. Ours is the only medical facility in the area that combines neurosurgery, neurology, orthopedic spine surgery, interventional and non-interventional pain management, and physical therapy. Our practice has grown to over 50 providers and serves patients in nine outlying clinics scattered throughout the region. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, provides explanations of procedures, and answers questions. 
  • Ensures the patient screening form contains all pertinent clinical history.
  • Ensures the patient has removed all ferromagnetic objects.
  • Follows prescribed safety standards in operating MRI equipment, body mechanics, and patient movement.
  • Prepares, positions, and attends to patients during imaging procedure. 
  • Performs all MR exams and adjusts scanning parameters as needed to enhance image quality.
  • Administers contrast media to patients by intravenous methods.
  • Maintains accurate records as directed.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to MR exams and equipment.
  • Knowledge of MRI equipment and testing to perform quality control checks and troubleshooting of instrumentation.
  • Understands the principles of MRI physics and maintain both patient and operator safety.
  • Maintains rooms and stock medical supplies as necessary.
  • Works as a team member within the imaging department and all other departments.
  • Attends seminars/meetings and incorporates new procedures and/or revises protocols to improve patient diagnostics.
  • Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Completion of an accredited Radiology program required with current registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists and MRI
  • MRI Experience
  • Epic & PACS knowledge helpful.
  • Current CPR certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Ability to prioritize and has excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to act calmly and communicate effectively in a busy or stressful situation.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Requires frequent change in position, including bending, stooping, standing, stretching, and walking and sitting, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
  • May involve lifting of up to 30–40 pounds.

Salary Description
$33.50 - $41 / hour
