Description

We are currently hiring for an energetic and experienced Career Services Manager to join our team at Joyce University.  The Career Services Manager oversees and leads the Career Services team within student affairs This role involves strategic planning, program development, and management of the career services team to enhance student career readiness and success. The Manager demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills, advanced computer proficiency, and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of individuals. They are responsible for organizing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and fostering relationships with employers, alumni, faculty, and staff to create opportunities for students and alumni. Additionally, the Career Services Manager analyzes employment trends, provides career counseling, and implements initiatives to improve career services offerings.  This position is located on our Draper, UT campus.

WHAT YOU DO EVERYDAY:    

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance career services, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and student needs.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of career development programs, workshops, and events, such as job fairs, employer panels, and networking opportunities.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of comprehensive career services programs for students and alumni. Promote student use and access to Career Services. Use data to assess program effectiveness and to make improvements.

  • Assist students and alumni in creating resumes and cover letters, either one on one or through educational workshops. Conduct mock interviews and provide feedback to enhance interview skills.  
  • Works closely with academic departments to align career services with institutional learning outcomes. Ensure Career Services is gathering and tracking the career placement data required by programmatic accreditation.

  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions and job placements. Prepare reports on career services outcomes and success stories. Prepares required placement reporting for accrediting agencies.
  • Track and analyze employment and placement data, job market trends, and student outcomes.
  • Partner with marketing team to build alumni services to engage alumni in mentoring and networking activities.  
  • Partner with other campus departments, including clinical relations and academic fieldwork coordinators, involved in career development efforts.  
  • Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program Management:

     a. Partner with the Financial Aid Department to oversee the Federal Work-Study program, ensuring compliance with federal        regulations and institutional policies.

     b. Coordinate the placement of FWS students in on-campus and off-campus positions, maintaining communication with supervisors and partners.

     c. Provide ongoing training and development for FWS students to enhance their skills, job performance, and overall work experience.

  • Build and maintain relationships with employers, alumni, and community partners to create job and opportunities for students and alumni.
  • Develops employment opportunities and partnerships for graduates by being familiar with market trends. Serve as a strategic guide and employment resource for graduates. Assists graduates is securing employment in their field of study. Maintain database of local, regional, and national job openings.
  • Arrange career fairs, employer information sessions, and virtual events. Assists with student events such as student appreciation, new student orientation, pinning ceremonies, and commencement ceremony. 
  • Provides student support as needed 
  • Other duties as assigned 
Requirements

WHAT YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED:  

  • Required education:  Associates degree
  • Preferred education:  Bachelors degree or higher
  • Required experience:  Minimum of 3 to 5 years working in Higher Education Career Services Department

Salary Description
$75,000 - $85,000 Annually
