Conventional Loan Coordinator
Description

Assist the conventional lending team at First New York, by communicating with borrowers, staff and vendors, as well as, gathering and summarizing pertinent documents & information based on credit union policy. This individual will work in tandem with the Mortgage Loan Originator and play a pivotal role in coordinating residential files from application to post-closing. Must be service focused with superior time management and communication skills. In addition, the individual must have the ability to multi-task, possess keen attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Mortgage team and the Mortgage Loan Originator to determine what information is outstanding and follows up on these items in a timely manner. Obtain the appropriate documents from loan applicants and organize follow-up on unaccounted items.
  • Reviews residential loan application file to verify that application data is complete and meets establishment standards, including type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment. 
  • Maintains the outstanding mortgage pipeline and ensures loan files move forward accurately, with urgency.
  • Informs supervisor of discrepancies in loan documentation, title or survey. 
  • Ensures exceptional member service by maintaining thorough communication with members, attorneys, realtors, appraisers and vendors throughout the mortgage event.  
  • Possesses knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics, complying with all Federal and State compliance policies.
  • Maintain department policies and procedures of work processes to meet Compliance guidelines. 
  • Liaison between origination, third-party mortgage vendors, and members throughout the loan process.
  • All other duties that may be assigned. 


Requirements
  • High school diploma and two plus years of conventional mortgage experience; preferably in a processing role.
  • Excellent computer skills with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other programs
  • Prior experience in Encompass preferred
  • Possesses critical thinking skills and applies learned lending principles according to the unique needs of each member and their risk profile.
  • Credit skills, interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly while handling multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in conducting credit analysis, including cash flow, credit reporting, and credit investigation.


Salary Description
$20.00 - $23.00/hr
