Summary:

We seek an experienced and dynamic communications manager to enhance our organization’s marketing and communication efforts. With a heavy emphasis on internal communications, this individual will manage all aspects of assigned communications projects and programs, ensuring that our messaging aligns with company goals and enhances brand visibility.

The ideal candidate is well-versed in internal communications best practices, a strategic thinker with strong writing and editing skills, self-motivated and able to manage competing priorities with minimal direction, and adept at handling public relations, content creation and communications planning while fostering relationships with stakeholders, employees, and the public.

  • Compensation: $95,000-125,000 per year
  • Work From Home: Flexibility to work from home based on business needs and policies.
  • Work/life balance: We offer a Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule.

Requirements

Essential functions:

  • Manage internal communications programs: Manage the day-to-day execution of internal communications strategies to ensure employees are informed and engaged with company goals, announcements, and updates through newsletters, intranet content, meetings, events and other communication channels.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies: Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive communication plans to support key company objectives and initiatives.
  • Content creation and editing: Draft, edit, and review company materials, including intranet posts, emails, articles, presentations, speeches, and reports to ensure clear, concise, and effective communication.
  • Support external communications: As needed, develop press releases and media kits and assist with public relations efforts to maintain and enhance the company’s reputation. Handle media inquiries and develop responses to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Brand management: Ensure all communications adhere to company branding guidelines and help strengthen the company’s voice across all platforms.
  • Social media strategy: Assist with managing the company’s social media presence, working with the digital marketing team to ensure consistent, engaging, and strategic content.
  • Measure success: Use analytics and feedback to assess the effectiveness of communication efforts, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve objectives.

Qualifications or Competencies:

  • 5+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or marketing.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of internal communications best practices and the fundamentals of writing, grammar, syntax, style and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of media relations, crisis management, and social media strategy is preferred.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively when developing communication plans.
  • Strong organizational, project and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality.
  • Ability to tailor messages to ensure relevance to internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Associated Press Stylebook.
  • Excellent computer skills and understanding of technical applications used by marketing and communications professionals.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in communication, Public Relations, Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience and training.

Core business hours:

Monday- Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. – additional hours may be required on an infrequent basis.


Supervisor Responsibilities: This position will not have any direct reports.

Travel:

Travel to out-of-state offsite training or meetings may be required.
