Associate Site Reliability Engineer

Description

The Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for building & maintaining the infrastructure, networking & 3rd party integrations necessary for creating a highly available/reliable solution for running a n-tier application. This role requires maintaining fault tolerant systems that meet the reliability and availability requirements from a SLA commitment standpoint. They work closely with Senior Site Reliability Engineers, Clients and Cloud Service Engineers to implement and maintain the infrastructure solution. They participate in activities associated with the environment standup, networking & 3rd party integrations.


Internally, this role is titled Engineer (SRE), Associate. 


Job Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Maintain and manage system documentation, configuration procedures.
  • Participate in requirements definition and requirements gathering sessions
  • Maintain and manage the core infrastructure
  • Debug production issues as it relates to infrastructure and network problems
  • Write requirements to support testing, training, and documentation teams
  • Create materials to support user guide and training course development
  • Develop materials to support partners, sales, marketing, customers, and product information sessions
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • BS in Computer Science, Business, MIS, or related field
  • Familiarity with site reliability engineering practices, system documentation, and/or configuration procedures
  • Good understanding of relational databases or database systems, preferably SQL Server
  • Experience working in a Windows/Linux Environment providing system analysis and support
  • Collaborate on the implementation of system components including new servers, hardware, software, and upgrades
  • Good understanding of cloud, preferably Azure
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Self-motivated; thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to quickly grasp and understand both business and technical concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: 

  • Familiarity with TFS or Azure DevOps
  • Experience with large-scale public sector IT projects, especially for Revenue or Finance agencies

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

RSI determines pay range based upon numerous compensation factors, including experience, skill set, and geographic location. A current and reasonable estimated range for this position is $60,000 - $65,500. However, it’s possible for an individual to be hired at a salary outside of this range.
