Summary:
The primary responsibilities of the Warehouse Forklift Operator are to move pallets from one location to another. All Forklift operators are asked to operate forklifts with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. Operate Forklift and work under the direction of the warehouse manager.
Reports to: Director of Warehouse Operations
Classification: Full-time Temp; Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday-Friday; 2:30PM - 11:00PM
You Will:
- Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following.
- Unload, move, and consolidate applicable inventories to ensure space is orderly and functional to the operations.
- Maintain physical inventory of glass on hand
- Record End of Run glass inventory counts, properly mark pallets with NAV item numbers, and record partial pallet bottle counts on wrap, report total to Warehouse Mgmt.
- Identify damages and report shortage or quality deficiencies, report breakage on breakage reports for finished goods.
- Verify incoming and outbound items against Bills of Lading or packing slips.
- Perform pre-operational forklift inspections and report any issues to supervisor
- Keep updated records and activity logs
- Comply with company policies and legal and safety guidelines
- Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
- Restacking any pallets as needed.
- Experience with case labeling
- Assists with the loading and unloading of all delivery trucks. Assures compliance with workplace safety procedures. Limits access to loading docks by unauthorized individuals.
- Receive and inspect external packaging for all incoming shipments. Notify delivery personnel of any shipping damage.
You have:
- Excellent communication and social skills are required.
- Experience as forklift operator (Wine Industry preferred)
- Forklift Driver Certification
- 2-3 years experience as a warehouse worker or equivalent
- Effective time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- The position requires some computer and telephone use.
- Will work near moving mechanical parts and in a warehouse environment.
- The work environment can range from hot, damp, dry, and cold, depending on the time of year.
- Required to wear PPE (eye protection, hearing protection, slip-resistant shoes, gloves)
