Description:

DOXA is currently seeking an experienced accountant with mergers and/or acquisitions accounting history to work in our Corporate Finance department. The candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions in our insurance business including integrating newly acquired businesses. This role will offer a great opportunity for growth as the organization continues its expansion goals.

Senior Accountant Job Duties:

  • Supporting business combination/purchase accounting and integration to help ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP as well as adherence to DOXA’s accounting policies. These responsibilities will include functioning as a primary liaison with the acquisitions and the M&A team, integrating the business into the GL system, and obtaining a thorough understanding of the accounting flows and processes within the acquisition and making process changes to adhere to GAAP accounting as necessary.  
  • Month-end close ownership for multiple subsidiaries including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis and reporting.
  • Regularly interacting with satellite locations to help develop and maintain efficient month-end processes and controls.
  • Record transactions in data management system and accounting systems.
  • Assisting with year-end financial audit by gathering necessary documents for testing, documenting processes and supporting other audit and tax requests.
  • Updating job knowledge by keeping current with financial regulations and accepted practices; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Requirements


  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • 2+ Years experience with mergers/acquisition accounting integration
  • 5+years' experience in an accounting firm or professional corporate accounting role
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
  • Detail Oriented
  • Being able to work independently
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
