Summary:

The Business Development Manager will provide critical support to Prosperity Now’s Business Development team, helping to manage a diverse portfolio of funding streams, including government and foundation grants, corporate partnerships, and other revenue-generating activities. This role will work closely with the Associate Directors and Director of Business Development, and the Vice President of External Affairs to ensure the smooth execution of fundraising activities, relationship management, and project tracking. The Business Development Manager will also be responsible for coordinating grant submissions, maintaining Salesforce records, and assisting with the development of corporate engagement strategies.


Key Responsibilities: 

Grants & Corporate Partnership Management

· Support the grant proposal process, including coordinating deadlines, ensuring the accuracy of all submissions, and assisting with gathering programmatic and budgetary information for proposals.

· Work with the Development and Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate submission of grant applications and reports to funders.

· Assist in researching corporate partners and developing proposals for productizing Prosperity Now’s services, including financial literacy tools, consulting services, and data products.

· Coordinate renewal processes for both foundation and corporate funding, ensuring that timelines are met and all required materials are submitted on time.

· Track all donor and funder information in Salesforce, maintaining up-to-date records of contacts, meetings, proposal submissions, and progress updates.


Pipeline Development & Prospecting

· Assist in the management of the grants and corporate partnership pipelines, including identifying new funding opportunities and keeping track of prospects.

· Lead prospect research efforts by identifying new government, corporate, and foundation funding opportunities.

· Develop and maintain a robust prospect list in Salesforce, collaborating with the Director of Business Development and Associate Directors to identify and prioritize new opportunities.


Data Management & Reporting

· Manage Salesforce records, ensuring all relevant fundraising data, including donor contacts, deadlines, and proposals, are accurate and up-to-date.

· Generate regular reports for leadership, providing insights on funding opportunities, grant application progress, and revenue projections.

· Track progress on revenue goals, maintaining records of submission timelines, success rates, and reporting outcomes to the VP of External Affairs and senior leadership.


Internal Coordination & Support

· Provide administrative and project management support to the Business Development team, helping to streamline internal processes and improve efficiency.

· Coordinate internal meetings and deadlines across the team, ensuring all team members are aware of upcoming priorities and project timelines.

· Collaborate with the Communications team to ensure alignment of donor engagement strategies with organizational messaging and branding.

· Assist with planning and executing fundraising events, including sponsorship outreach, coordination with vendors, and managing event logistics.


Relationship Management & Stewardship

· Support stewardship activities by ensuring timely acknowledgment of gifts and managing donor communications in partnership with the Development team.

· Help maintain strong relationships with existing corporate and foundation partners, ensuring regular touchpoints and communications that reinforce Prosperity Now’s value proposition.

· Work with the team to develop stewardship strategies, including organizing events, drafting impact reports, and ensuring fulfillment of sponsorship benefits.


Qualifications:

· Four years of relevant experience; or a master’s and two (2) years of experience of which two years were at a Senior Associate level or the equivalent

· Bachelor’s or the equivalent years of experience

· Minimum of four years of experience in grants management, fundraising, or business development, with a strong understanding of nonprofit fundraising.

· Experience working with a CRM system, particularly Salesforce, for managing donor and grant data.

· Proven ability to manage deadlines and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables.

· Excellent research skills, with demonstrated experience in identifying and qualifying new funding opportunities.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience writing proposals, reports, and donor-facing materials.

· Ability to work collaboratively across teams, with a focus on supporting a diverse set of business development functions, including corporate partnerships and grant management.

Supervisory Responsibility: One to two employees and/or consultants.


Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Travel: 10% 


FLSA Classification: Exempt, Level 3


Salary Range: The salary for this position is $60,800 to $91,200 per year, with a midpoint of $76,000.
