Job Summary:

The  Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing  electrical construction projects according to strict deadlines and  within budget. This role will manage all aspects of a project from  preconstruction to closeout, including resource allocation,  subcontractor coordination, financial management, and client  communication. The Project Manager must ensure that projects meet  high-quality standards and adhere to safety and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning:  Develop and manage detailed project schedules and work plans in  conjunction with the superintendent. Collaborate with the construction  teams and preconstruction teams to review and refine project estimates,  budgets, and scope of work.
  • Budget & Financial Management:  Oversee project budgets, track costs, and manage change orders to  ensure profitability. Monitor project financials and provide regular  updates to senior leadership on project performance.
  • Client Relations:  Serve as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs  and expectations are met. Provide regular project status updates and  address any concerns or changes.
  • Team Management:  Lead and coordinate the efforts of the project team, including field  superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors. Ensure proper resource  allocation and monitor team performance.
  • Contract & Subcontractor Management:  Oversee contract administration, ensuring all contractual obligations  are met. Select, manage, and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring they  meet quality and safety standards.
  • Risk Management & Problem Solving:  Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to keep  projects on track. Proactively address issues related to design changes,  scope alterations, or delays.
  • Scheduling & Progress Monitoring:  Create and manage project timelines, ensuring all milestones are met.  Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance  with the project plan.
  • Safety Compliance:  Collaborate with safety teams to ensure all job sites adhere to OSHA  and company safety regulations. Implement corrective actions when  necessary to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Document Control:  Maintain accurate project documentation, including change orders, RFIs,  submittals, daily reports, and meeting minutes. Ensure all  documentation is up-to-date and filed appropriately in Procore.
  • Quality Control:  Ensure that all work performed meets the company’s quality standards  and that any issues are addressed promptly. Conduct inspections and  ensure that any corrective measures are taken.
  • Project Closeout:  Lead the closeout process, including final inspections, punch lists,  as-built drawings, and turnover documentation. Ensure a smooth handover  to the client and completion of all project deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum  of 5 years of project management experience in electrical contracting,  with a proven track record of managing large-scale electrical projects  ($1M+).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical construction practices, codes, and standards.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, Accubid) and financial tracking tools.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple teams and subcontractors.
  • Excellent  communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to  interact effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and experience managing project risks.
  • Financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and project financials.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification or equivalent project management certification or project management experience
