Fund Development Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

The Fund Development Specialist will infuse and model the Girl Scout Law into their everyday work to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

The Fund Development Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely entry of all donations and pledges into the fund development data management system. The Fund Development Specialist is responsible for ensuring proper acknowledgment and recognition of donors, including, but not limited to, thank you cards, thank you letters, acknowledgment of tributes and/or memorial gifts, tax receipts, and pledge reminders. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate and comprehensive data in the fund development data management system, gift coding, daily and monthly gift and pledge reports, troop check request reporting, and grant tracking reports, as well as performing data analytics to guide the development program. The position is also responsible for a variety of annual giving fundraising projects and is directly accountable for generating fundraising revenue for the Diamonds Council. 

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensures that all pledges and      gifts to the council are processed and receipted accurately and on a      timely basis, and per processing and receipting guidelines.
  • Manages the daily work of      donation processing and coding, pledge management, acknowledgment letters,      corporate gifts, and matching gifts, check requests, and gifts in kind      processing.
  • Collaborates with the fund      development team and other departments to ensure that donation policies      and procedures are developed and adhered to.
  • Develops and runs reports on      donation, pledge, and grant status as requested, ensures data integrity,      and makes necessary corrections promptly.
  • Creates and maintains donor      and monthly gift files in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Builds rapport with donors      to ensure overall customer satisfaction to support successful fundraising.
  • Provides support to council      fund development programs and special events.
  • Development and execution of      annual giving campaigns such as the employee giving campaign,      ToGetHerThere, Man Enough to Be a Girl Scout, Restaurant Week, in-kind      giving solicitations and others to be determined.
  • Ensures donor      confidentiality.
  • Implements other duties as      assigned

There are times throughout our year when the work of other departments becomes heavy and/or critically timely. In the spirit of teamwork, we require that requests for assistance be met with collaborative enthusiasm by all team members. Examples may include but are not limited to—membership recruitment/renewal campaigns and efforts, product program logistics and support to include cookie cupboards and volunteer assistance, volunteer appreciation and engagement, retail inventory and delivery (among regional offices), program signature event participation, and support, and property maintenance/improvement as requested.

KNOWLEDGE AND CREDENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Required

· High school diploma and experience in fundraising and/or nonprofit field, data management, bookkeeping/clerical or administrative support

· 3-5 years of bookkeeping, data management, and customer service experience

· Valid driver’s license and safe driving record

Preferred

· Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field with 1-2 years of experience in fundraising database management.

· Knowledge of Girl Scout Leadership Experience
