In this role, you’ll be a key contributor to our security department, responsible for detecting, managing, and mitigating security threats across our infrastructure. Your work will help protect our community bank clients by ensuring they receive top-tier security solutions, empowering them to compete with larger institutions and secure their sensitive data.
What You'll Do:
Key responsibilities include:
- Threat Detection & Response: Monitor network traffic, systems, and endpoints to identify suspicious activities and prevent breaches.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to address potential security gaps. Provide direction on patching goals and identify priority vulnerabilities that should be mitigated first.
- Incident Response: Investigate security incidents and support forensics and recovery efforts to minimize breaches' impact.
- Security Architecture: Collaborate with IT and Development teams to implement and manage security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.
- Policy and Compliance: Ensure company policies meet security regulations and compliance standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, CCPA, SOC 2, FFIEC). Assist with audits and security compliance checks, particularly in customer-facing projects.
- Data Loss Prevention: Develop and manage strategies to prevent unauthorized access or loss of sensitive data.
- Security Awareness: Educate employees on cybersecurity best practices to foster a proactive security culture
- Oversight of Encryption Standards: Oversee the implementation and management of encryption standards used to secure sensitive data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Security Research & Alerts: Conduct ongoing security research, monitor industry alerts, and stay informed of trends and emerging threats to proactively protect the organization
- Security Standard Alignments: Work towards aligning with security standards such as NIST CSF 2.0, ISO 27001, and other relevant frameworks to enhance the organization's security posture.
What Will Help You Stand Out:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, or related field
- Experience in Security Frameworks: Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST CSF or ISO 27001 will help you align our systems with industry best practices.
- Cloud Security Expertise: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud security tools and practices will drive success in this role.
- Scripting Skills: Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell will enable you to automate processes and enhance security operations.
- Experience working in both software development and banking industries: Knowledge of the unique security challenges in these sectors will be highly beneficial.
- Identity management expertise: Understanding of role-based access control (RBAC) and authentication technologies like SAML, OAuth, or MFA.

What We're Looking For:
To be considered for this role, you'll need the following required qualifications:
- Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, preferably in a tech or financial services environment.
- Certifications: Security+, PenTest+, CISSP (or equivalent) preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong skills in threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response, and familiarity with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and encryption standards.
- Problem-Solving Ability: A proactive approach to identifying security risks and implementing preventive measures.
