Job Description

KIPP Memphis has a great opportunity for a full-time/temporary Human Resources Generalist in our Memphis Regional Office. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting KIPP schools regarding recruitment, employee relations, benefits, performance management, and employee staffing/ onboarding. The position works within the Human Resources Team to provide excellent customer service to all KIPP Memphis staff and supports the overall vision of the Human Resources department.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the evaluation system. Liase with TDOE; upload evaluation data to TDOE; train employees on TDOE evaluation system and requirements
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Manages the performance review process.
  • Maintains and keeps up-to-date digital and paper employee records
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 3 to 6 years of experience working with Tennessee Department of Education evaluation system required
  • 3 to 6 years of relevant Human Resources work experience required
  • Strong experience in data analysis and HRIS
  • Experience using HRIS systems (preferably Paylocity)

Prolonged periods standing and actively monitoring student behavior while teaching

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Must be able to traverse classroom and adjust height, by bending or leaning, in order to teach each child

Must be able to facilitate classroom transitions by walking through hallways and up and down stairs with students
