Position Summary

The Events Manager manages food service operations for all of Gastamo’s events. This includes on-site events, the Burger Buggy, Taco Trailer, and community events where food is served. This position will also assist with food and beverage operations when there are no events. This is a multifaceted, well-rounded position that will require someone with operations experience, a love for hospitality, culinary expertise, and a solid work ethic.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations for on-site events, the Burger Buggy, Taco Trailer, and other off-premises events. Events include but are not limited to Local Community Events, Weddings, Private Parties, and Guest Bookings.
  • This full-time, year-round position will be 80% Events driven and 20% in restaurant food and beverage operations.
  • Manages guest and organization inquiries and leads for parties of 15 or more, the Burger Buggy and Taco Trailer.
  • Partners with operations to support event execution.
  • Partners with marketing and the F&B team for event approval.
  • Partner with the marketing team to build the event budget and calendar.
  • Partners with F&B Director for menu design.
  • Review events in advance to ensure all necessary information is in place before the event date. 
  • Order and plan all food prep needed for events and communicate with the F&B Director.
  • Operates all areas of the event, from set up to execution of the food and beverage and event needs to the close of the event.
  • Ensure      Food Truck/Off Premise/Events team members follow proper sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure safety standards are maintained before, during, and after events.
  • Maintain and ensure the cleanliness of Food Truck/Catering/off-premise equipment.
  • Maintain all equipment cleanliness, including refrigerator, stove, prep table, and cookware.
  • Plan, order, and manage all servers (platters, serving utensils, etc.) needed for events.
  • Partner with Home Office Support to maintain food truck licensing. 
  • Managed and trained food trucks and off-premise staff for all events.
  • Learn and utilize TripleSeat event management system, Toast POS

Requirements

 Education, Experience, and Training (Things we would love to see and we can also teach)

  • Prior food truck experience preferred. 
  • Prior restaurant operations experience is required. 
  • Off-premise and event experience is strongly preferred.
  • Kitchen knowledge and etiquette.
  • Catering experience.
  • Toast POS experience or willingness to learn.
  • TripleSeat event management system experience or willingness to learn.
  • A minimum of 1 year of coordinating special events is required.
