Description

Novaspect, Inc.  is currently offering an opportunity for a Contracts Specialist to join our fast paced, customer oriented team in our Schaumburg, IL location.  Novaspect is a growing and progressive company, and seeks an individual with the business acumen and drive to develop and elevate their position. The successful candidate is responsible for supporting a variety of contract-related matters including, at a minimum, reviewing commercial terms and conditions, confidentiality agreements, and making recommendations in accordance with company guidelines, risk tolerance and business objectives.


Contract Specialist Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with multiple departments to develop, negotiate, and administer clear, concise, and effective contracts with customers, vendors and various business initiatives
  • Appreciates the importance of business and sales strategies and seeks to align work efforts with those strategies      
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all departments to maximize a win-win outcome which, while meeting business objectives, is practical and executable
  • Learn Novaspect’s business model and risk tolerances and apply to work product.
  • Drive business and contractual discussions with customers, including follow-up and resolution of outstanding issues
  • Work with mid to upper-level customer contacts
  • Serve as a resource for helping internal departments (and management) evaluate the meaning and/or impact of terms and conditions
  • Working in a contract lifecycle management (CLM) system to initiate, track and archive agreements.
  • Maintain consistent best practices approach to contract (pricing and terms) and Agreement terms and approaches 
  • Support customers’ certificate of insurance requests
  • Review and, as applicable, negotiate Non-Disclosure Agreements with customers and vendors
  • Assist in maintaining Novaspect’s standard terms and conditions in accordance with industry best practices
  • Work collaboratively with Business Unit Management to negotiate supplier contracts
  • Work collaboratively with Emerson Contract Administrators on common terms and conditions negotiations
Requirements

Contract Specialist Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree. Paralegal or contract management certification is a plus. Legal degree welcome. 
  • 2+ years’ contracts experience in a business environment 
  • Familiarity with data protection regulations and cybersecurity frameworks as they relate to contracts and business operations
  • Capability to independently negotiate, draft, interpret, and administer contracts 
  • Solid understanding of contractual issues related to risk and reliability 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Strong business focus (understands the risk versus reward aspect of each engagement)
  • Prior experience with companies selling goods and services (knowledge of software service contracts is a plus)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Effective at building long term relationships and collaborating with multiple internal departments

Contract Specialist Pay: 

  • Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000
  • 5% Bonus
