Requirements

To succeed, you must be self-motivated and take ownership of your responsibilities while collaborating across teams. Success is defined by the timely delivery of IT solutions, independent management of technical challenges, and contributions to process improvements and innovation that align with the company's goals. Focus of your initiatives encompass but are not limited to the following:  

Systems Administration: Manage and maintain servers, including installation, configuration, and upgrades. Monitor system performance, ensuring reliability and security through regular maintenance. Implement and manage backups, disaster recovery, and data protection strategies. 

Network Engineering Support: Support and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls. Assist with network design, implementation, and optimization. Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues. 

Application Support: Provide technical support for various business-critical applications, ensuring functionality and resolving any issues promptly. Document application configurations, processes, and solutions. 

Desktop Support: Provide technical support for both Mac and Windows desktop hardware and software. Assist with the setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of desktop and mobile devices. Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on workstations. 

Azure Cloud Management: Manage and support Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, networking, and storage. Implement and maintain Azure security and compliance policies.  

SQL Support: Maintain and troubleshoot SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance. Assist with database backups, restores, and disaster recovery efforts.  


Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum five years of progressive experience or in a similar role. 
  • Proven experience in systems administration, network engineering, and technical support. 
  • Proficiency with both Mac and Windows desktop environments. 
  • Experience managing Azure services, including virtual machines and networking. 
  • Strong understanding of SQL Server performance tuning, backups, and recovery. 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence all organizational levels.  
  • Manage expectations by reporting out and communicating expected deliverables internally and externally.  
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.  
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands.  
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.  
  • Ability to work proactively and constructively in a fast-paced, collaborative, team environment.  
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.  
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Desired Skills

  • Certification in Azure or similar cloud platforms 
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and tools 
  • Experience with automated scripting for IT processes (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) 
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V 
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices 


The IT Specialist will report directly to the Director, DevOps.

Salary Description
$90,000 - $100,000 / year
