Description

ALTR is looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, self-driven technical sales engineer to further drive ALTR’s data consumption governance and tokenization as-a-service platform in the market! As a technical sales engineer, the candidate will be instrumental in working along with our field account executives and alliance/channel development directors in building technical and business relationships with prospects, customers and market leading partners.


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical sales point-of-contact for ALTR account executives and alliance/channel development managers
  • Lead all technical pre-sales activities which may include: client/partner initial discovery meetings, technical qualification, solution architecture, ALTR platform demonstrations, objections and technical proofs of concept, along with partner sandbox and technical enablement
  • Assist ALTR regional account executives/business development managers on technical strategy and positioning, with the ultimate goal of driving net new ALTR business and customer satisfaction
  • Serve as requirements funnel (liaison) from the field as it pertains to product strategy and/or product roadmap
  • Understand the ALTR competitive and business landscape in order to assist ALTR client executives/business development managers in navigating complex sales situations
  • Lead ALTR proofs of concept or “pilots” from start to finish with the objective of demonstrating to ALTR clients the value of the ALTR data security solution
  • Assist, when applicable, ALTR business development managers in delivering technical presentations/trainings and/or demonstrations
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of previous experience in sales engineering, technical sales engineering or a similar role
  • Experience in Cloud Data Warehouses, Data Lake, Cloud Service Providers - CDW/DW/CSP market, Business Intelligence - BI/Analytics, Data Movement Tools/iPaaS, ETL, Data Automation Platforms, Risk and Compliance Tools and Platforms
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in performing highly effective technical presentations and demonstrations
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or similar
  • Proficiency in relational database design (e.g. MSFT SQL, Oracle) and implementation
  • Proficiency in application design as it pertains to how applications across various programming languages leverage relational databases for data persistence
  • Experience/Knowledge in JDBC/ODBC and how applications leverage JDBC/ODBC for relational databases
  • Experience/Knowledge in REST based architectural styles (e.g. RESTFUL APIs)
  • Experience/Knowledge in cryptographic principles and/or key-based encryption as it pertains to data security
  • Experience/Knowledge in data security as it pertains to the security of data throughout it's lifecycle e.g. in transit, at rest, etc.
