Description
The Occupational Therapist (OT) partners with Pinnacle’s physicians to provide comprehensive care to our patients. The Hand Therapist will work side-by-side with a hand surgeon preferably level 2 student or experienced outpatient hand therapist with GA license and CHT. The case load includes the treatment of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree from an accredited university occupational therapy program;
- Georgia State License granted by the Georgia Board of Occupational Therapy required;
- Georgia State Modality Certification required:
- Specialty certifications are welcome; CHT preferred and or on route to their CHT
- Two years of experience treating patients in an orthopedic setting preferred.

Requirements
Requirements:
- Creates treatment plans in accordance with instructions and consent of referring physician
- Evaluates patient treatment programs in coordination with the medical staff
- Performs written re-evaluations in preparation for patients return for follow-up Physician appointments, or at a minimum documents progress every ten therapy sessions
- Provides services that help improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients
- Fabricates custom-made splints, and communicates with physician to ensure the patient receives the correct splint
- Meets or communicates regularly with a variety of healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and physician assistants to ensure successful patient treatment outcomes
- Documents evaluative findings, treatments administered, the assessment of patient response to treatment and treatment plan, and other relevant information
- Provides excellent customer service
- Educates patients in the prevention of injuries, conditioning, and rehabilitation of injuries
- Other duties as assigned;
