Description

Greater Nashua Mental Health is looking for a full-time Therapist to join our Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Services Team! The Therapist provides direct clinical service to individuals and families seeking substance abuse treatment on a flexible schedule that includes evening hours.  Delivers consultation and education to staff, other agencies, and the community. Meets with individuals in a therapy office setting. 


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides individual and family therapy for substance use and/or co-occurring disorders to clients for a percentage of time per week as appropriate for position and as directed by supervisor.
  • Provides group therapy and/or IOP groups using evidence-based curricula for substance use and/or co-occurring disorders to clients.
  • In collaboration with the client, and by due date, develops, implements, and reviews the Treatment Plan using appropriate, defined and evidence-based treatment interventions.
  • Conducts both intake assessments and court ordered evaluations for clients as needed.
  • Documents all clinical assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, and other required documentation within 72 hours (with the first being date of service/completion).
  • Communicates professionally and effectively with colleagues, collateral contacts, supervisors, etc. regarding client care.
  • Prepares for and attends weekly or bimonthly supervision, weekly department and agency meetings.
  • Participates in training and staff development activities.
  • Manages and responds to email, voicemail, etc. in a timely and professional manner.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • Master’s Degree in Substance Use Counseling, Addiction Studies, Clinical Mental Health, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or other related field.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience working with people diagnosed with co-occurring severe mental illness and substance use disorders.
  • Licensed in the State of New Hampshire, MLADC, LICSW, LCMHC, LMFT
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with persons dealing with substance use disorder.
  • Interest in providing effective family therapy interventions to support individuals with substance use disorder.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong collaborating skills, and an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, and be flexible with regard to workload and assignments.
  • Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment.
