Job Summary

The HRIS Payroll Tax Analyst role is responsible for processing and managing the company’s payroll/HRIS system and ensuring the company is in compliance when it comes to payroll, taxes, and documentation. The HRIS Payroll Tax Analyst reports to the HR Director.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare the pay entry (for semi-monthly/exempt and bi-weekly/hourly payrolls), review the register, and process payroll to ensure that employees are paid on time and in the correct amount.
- Ensure hours are accurately submitted and approved in our Paylocity Time & Labor system for non-exempt employees.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll.
- Make adjustments for raises, bonuses, commission, overtime, deductions, garnishments, etc. within the Paylocity system.
- Varied payroll support processes, reports and feeds, including reconciliation, and varied governmental required reporting.
- Set up new state and local taxes, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Review and approve changes to demographic information, direct deposits and tax withholding changes. Communicate changes to the HR team that may impact benefits or work locations.
- Review the Year-End Dashboard and check W-2’s and ensure accuracy before W2’s are released to employees.
- Assist current and former employees with accessing W-2’s and answer any questions they may have and make corrections if necessary.
- Conduct regularly scheduled audits of Paylocity/payroll records to ensure continued accuracy.
- Address changes, issues, and questions related to payroll from employees and managers.
- Prepare reports for HR/Compliance, upper management, finance department, state/federal census reporting and annual audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are
- A graduate with an associate degree in business, finance, accounting or equivalent experience.
- Someone with 2-4 years of experience working with Paylocity payroll/HRIS system required.
- An individual with strong knowledge of multi-state tax and wage laws, and a good understanding of common payroll procedures. Experience with New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Ohio, and California state tax and wage laws preferred.
- Able to operate independently and utilize data from a variety of different sources.
- Advanced knowledge of MS office with a strong emphasis on excel.
- An individual with a high level of internal motivation, along with strong attention to detail.
- Someone with strong interpersonal skills who understands that our business objective is to provide superior customer service and that can handle conflict in a professional manner.
- A detail orientated individual with strong organizational and prioritizing skills, and the ability to be flexible and multi-task in a collaborative environment.
- A qualified candidate who possesses above average analytical and problem-solving skills.
- An individual that understands the value of providing a high level of customer service.
Work Environment
Flores’ standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET with an hour lunch. Roles may be approved for other schedules by managers. This role operates in a professional #LI-remote office environment. To be considered for this role, you must reside in one of the following states —AZ, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, ME, MI, MO, NC, NV, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WI, WV. This role is mostly sedentary and consists of prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. This role also utilizes other tools such as a phone, copy machine, and printer. Common programs often used are Outlook, Word, and Excel. This position frequently communicates with Flores team members and candidates and must be able to exchange accurate information clearly in these situations.
