Summary: This position will work with all staff and contractors of the Foundation to record and organize the financial data of the Foundation. As a small organization, each member of the Foundation plays an integral role in its success.
Responsibilities
1. Document financial transaction details and monitor the transactions in the Foundation’s software, Community Suite.
2. Gain an understanding of the daily donor and investor transactions and the impact on the Foundation’s general ledger
3. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
4. Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable subledger to the general ledger and ensure integrity of the balances
5. Fact-check accounting data.
6 Assist the President and CEO, auditors, and external accountants with providing documents for annual audit and 990 preparation.
7 Support the President and CEO, external accountants, and Foundation staff in gathering data and documentation for monthly and quarterly financial reports, annual budget preparation and tracking, and annual report preparation, as well as every three year accreditation and recertification with National Standards,
8. Gather and organize monthly bank statements and reconcile accounts.
9. Process checks and payments, grants and scholarships, and work with Foundation staff to ensure that payments are made in a timely and efficient manner. Oversee staff segregation of duties pertaining to processing accounting transactions.
10. Interface with vendors and contractors to ensure that there is accurate and efficient billing,
11. Gain familiarity with the Foundation’s systems and payment processing methods
11. Track staff PTO and sick time and provide data to President and CEO and any outside HR consultants as needed.
13. Support President & CEO as needed in preparing documents for Board of Directors’ and committee meetings
14. Other duties as needed and determined by President and CEO.
1. 2 years or more experience in areas of bookkeeping or accounting
2. Highly organized
3. Ability to be flexible and handle multiple projects with various deadlines

6. Proficient typing and computer skills, database management, knowledge of various software programs and packages including Microsoft Office 365

10. Ability to have customer service a top priority
11. Not-for-Profit experience preferred
12. Bachelor’s degree in accounting a plus but not necessary depending on experience.
