Position Summary:

The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a free resource available to help eligible households pay a portion of winter heating bills regardless of how they heat their home. WCAC's HEAP program serves households throughout Worcester County. Ahead of the busy winter months, WCAC seeks to hire and train a full time Intake Specialist responsible to gather applicant information to process the completion and accuracy of the HEAP applications.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or HiSet equivalent required. 
  • Previous experience working in an office setting, 1 year desired.
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn software and databases used within the agency.
  • Self-directed, ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse individuals, families, co-workers, and community partners.
  • Customer service oriented; strong interpersonal and communication skills with a positive outlook and empathetic style.
  • Embraces and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Ability to speak Spanish or other languages, a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • May be asked to work extended hours during the peak of the fuel season.
