Description

Position Summary

The Pickleball Instructor teaches and assists the Program Manager in all Pickleball programmed activities and personal lessons.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible TPC Programmed Instruction (Beginner Clinics, Drill Clinics, PCU, PCA, etc). These hours will be scheduled by the Director of Pickleball.
  • Responsible for scheduled hours for coordination (non-court) assignments, to include: organizing and implementing Ladders/Leagues, helping with tournaments, socials, events, and court monitoring.
  • Above and beyond the expected programmed instruction and coordination hours, employee may teach private, semi-private, and group lessons for beginners and intermediate players at court instruction rate.


Requirements

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • Must be Certified Pickleball Instructor (IPTPA or PPA preferred) and maintain certification.
  • Thorough knowledge of the mechanics, rules, and strategy of the game.
  • Strong leadership, coaching skills, and ability to teach in a way that motivates students.
  • Excellent technology skills and proficiency
  • Create fun, engaging, and dynamic pickleball lessons for private, semi-private, and small groups at a ratio of no more than 1:8.
  • Must be able to coach a variety of skill levels and age groups with an outgoing, positive, engaging, and professional attitude.
  • Have an understanding and utilize PlaySight in lessons for immediate feedback with students.
  • Must attend quarterly instructor trainings and adhere to all TPC policies and procedures.
  • Will receive in-house continued education and training on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Employees are required to be CPR/AED Certified (having completed in person training) or must complete in person training and obtain certification at their own cost within 30 days of employment.
  • Must have the ability to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Available to work shifts during the days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Reporting:

The Pickleball Instructor will report to the Director of Pickleball.


Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to lift 30 pounds regularly, squat and bend over regularly, carry out repetitive motions regularly, lift and carry awkward items, and stand for length of shift.
  • Must be able to stand and actively instruct for prolonged periods of time.
  • Moderate to high noise level in the work environment.
  • Must have a valid form of ID.
