Job Summary:
The Minnesota Mohs service comprises Mohs surgery performed at three clinic sites (Edina 6545, Plymouth, Woodbury). Referrals for the Mohs service are derived from both internal and external sources. In addition, 30-40 additional non-Mohs surgeries are completed monthly (~360 annually).
- Transmit to provider all Mohs and surgical referral requests (via tasks, facsimile, telephone, and walk-in) and supporting documentation for provider review (daily)
- Receive from provider specific scheduling recommendations for each case (daily)
- Contact patients to schedule all Mohs and non-Mohs surgeries in accordance with physician's guidelines (daily)
- Goal: Initial telephone contact within 24 hours of receiving referral documentation from provider
- Goal: Patient scheduled within 72 hours
- Screen patients at scheduling for insurance coverage (daily)
- Complete pre-op questionnaire at scheduling (daily)
- Coordinate scheduling as need with specific reconstructing physicians (facial plastic, oculoplastic, and plastic surgery), as needed
- Coordinate ordering of appropriate wound care products, as needed
- Maintain Mohs referral database
