Summary:

The Associate Director of Business Development will collaborate with the Vice President of External Affairs and Business Development team to develop and implement Prosperity Now's corporate partnership strategy, with a focus on creating innovative fundraising approaches that leverage the organization’s resources and expertise. This role is pivotal in creating and nurturing strategic relationships with corporate partners to advance initiatives of shared interest and mutual benefit. The Associate Director will also lead the Collective Prosperity Council, a group of corporate partners that provides insights and supports Prosperity Now’s mission while gaining valuable access to the organization’s network and resources. Additionally, the Associate Director will be responsible for executing the fundraising strategy for the annual Prosperity Summit. Reporting to the Vice President of External Affairs, this role is central to diversifying and expanding Prosperity Now’s revenue streams beyond traditional foundation funding.


Key Responsibilities:

Corporate Partnerships & Revenue Generation:

  • Contribute to the development of a strategic plan and implementation to engage corporate partners outside of the foundation space, focusing on product partnerships and shared-value initiatives that support Prosperity Now’s mission and revenue goals.
  • Design and pitch innovative fundraising strategies that productize Prosperity Now’s assets, such as data, research, network outreach, and other valuable services, to attract and secure corporate support.
  • Identify and cultivate new corporate partnership opportunities, ensuring a robust pipeline of prospects that align with Prosperity Now’s strategic priorities.
  • Manage and update the corporate partnership pipeline in Salesforce, tracking progress and outcomes for all active and prospective partnerships.
  • Set and achieve annual revenue targets for corporate partnerships, contributing significantly to Prosperity Now’s overall fundraising goals.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of External Affairs and other senior leaders to ensure alignment of corporate partnerships with organizational goals and priorities.

Collective Prosperity Council Leadership:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Collective Prosperity Council, selecting corporate partners to serve as an advisory group that supports and guides Prosperity Now’s initiatives.
  • Coordinate Council meetings, agenda-setting, and ongoing communication, ensuring meaningful engagement and value for both Prosperity Now and its corporate partners.
  • Develop and communicate a clear value proposition for Council members, including access to Prosperity Now’s insights, network, and branding opportunities.
  • Create and implement engagement activities, such as roundtables, networking events, and exclusive briefings, to maximize the benefits of Council membership for corporate partners.

Annual Summit Fundraising Strategy:

  • In collaboration with the Business Development team initiate the rollout of a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the annual Prosperity Summit, focusing on securing corporate sponsorships and partnerships that align with the Summit's themes and goals.
  • Collaborate with the Events and Marketing teams to create compelling sponsorship packages and materials that highlight the value of the Summit to corporate partners.
  • Secure corporate sponsorships for the Summit, ensuring alignment with revenue targets and strategic priorities.
  • Manage sponsor relationships, providing regular updates and ensuring sponsor’s needs are met before, during, and after the event.

Strategic Collaboration & Team Support:

  • Work closely with program teams to identify partnership opportunities that align with corporate interests and support programmatic goals.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to transition any existing corporate or foundation relationships as needed, ensuring a smooth handover and continued engagement.
  • Serve as a resource to colleagues focused on corporate fundraising, sharing insights and best practices to enhance the overall effectiveness of the Business Development team.
  • Regularly update the Vice President of External Affairs and other key stakeholders on progress toward corporate partnership goals.

Corporate Communications & Outreach:

  • Lead efforts to identify and engage new corporate prospects through targeted outreach, networking, and strategic communication.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with corporate partners, ensuring consistent communication and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing teams to develop materials and campaigns that effectively communicate Prosperity Now’s value to corporate partners.
  • Support the creation of tailored presentations, proposals, and reports for corporate partners, demonstrating the impact of their support and partnership.
Requirements

 Qualifications: 

  • Eight years of experience working in the field of corporate partnership development, business development, or a related field; or master’s in a related field and six (6) years of which at least two years were at a Senior Program Manager level or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s or the equivalent years of experience.
  • Strong experience securing corporate support for mission-driven organizations.
  • Proven success in developing and executing strategic partnership plans that achieve revenue goals.
  • Deep understanding of corporate social responsibility (CSR) trends and the ability to align corporate interests with social impact initiatives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in crafting compelling value propositions and pitches for corporate partners.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, particularly Salesforce, for tracking and managing partnership-related data.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with experience engaging diverse stakeholders.

Travel: Less than ten percent


FLSA Classification: Exempt


Salary Range: The salary for this position is $91,200 to $136,800 per year, with a midpoint of $114,000.
