Description

Performs and manages pharmacy operations’ compliance and accreditation activities on a national level. Oversee regulatory and accreditation developments or monitor trends that indicate the need for  new operational initiatives. Develop and implement training/policies and procedures for pharmacy operations based on current state, federal, and accreditation standards. Ensure the accuracy of communication materials. Monitor communication/changes to state and federal regulatory rules and adapt policies and procedures to assist in compliance for pharmacy operations. Comply with all federal/state regulations regarding health care services as applicable to pharmacy services collaborating with Legal and Chief Compliance Officer. Ideal remote location in Philadelphia Area.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy pharmacy operations policies and procedures in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and other Board of Pharmacy guidance.
  • Serves as liaison to pharmacy operations and Legal/compliance and provides broad oversight for federal and state rules and regulations.
  • Serves as the Performance Improvement (PI)/Quality Coordinator
  • Acting member of regional and national quality management committee for Nuvem
  • Aggregates pharmacy metric regarding accreditation compliance and assists with accreditation activities.
  • Reviews state and federal websites to determine trends and changes to current rules and regulations.
  • Collaborates with system wide pharmacy leadership to identify and initiate improvements to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations;
  • Performs pharmacy operational audits 
  • Research state regulations as we enter into new states of operation to assist implementation and develop/alter P&P if applicable after conducting a gap analysis
  • Prepare and deliver presentations that explain state and federal law changes as well as changes in accreditation standards.
  • Keep management apprised of all progress as well as any issues with regulatory bodies, and make thoughtful recommendations for resolving any issues in conjunction with Legal and Compliance
  • Responsible for the creation and updating of pharmacy management operations standard operating procedures. 
  • Ensure the accuracy of communication and prevent misrepresentation pharmaceutical services by:

· Ensuring that all new policies and procedures will be appropriately signed off by the designated personnel prior to dissemination.

· Monitoring existing policies and procedures for accuracy

· Works in collaboration with Legal and Compliance departments

  • Assist with on-site visits by state boards and accreditation bodies and audit requests
  • Participate in the development of new pharmacy initiatives correlating with pharmacy best practices.
  • Develop training materials with pharmacy operations for new staff 
  • Other duties assigned

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science or PharmD in Pharmacy degree from an accredited university is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years related to regulatory management education and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.  
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry required.
  • Travel requirements: as required by business needs.
