Who You Are

The CM Intern position is intended to provide an opportunity for a currently enrolled college student to gather knowledge of construction industry, field construction practices and related construction administrative processes.  This position provides construction and contract management support to the Project Manager and may be asked to help with general, project administrative support.


Reports to:  Project Engineer, Project Manager, Sr. Project Manager


Position is hourly.

  

What you will do:

  • Assist Project Manager with administration of contracts as assigned.
  • Maintain RFI, change order, daily report and submittal logs, tracking and reporting status.
  • Post RFIs, field orders, and change order proposals to project drawings.
  • Provide quality assurance through job site walks, preparation of daily reports or logs, etc.
  • Review of General Contractor’s as-built documents.
  • Assist in review of construction documents for constructability, bidability, completeness, errors and omissions.
  • Assist in the development of “front end” specifications and development of construction documentation.
  • Assist with cost estimating.
  • Procure or assist in procurement of contract required documentation, O&M manuals, as-built drawings, guarantees, warranties, keys, etc.
  • Develop and maintain project progress photos and required photos/videos/claim documentation.
  • Assist with or coordinate commissioning and testing of building systems and equipment.
  • Assist in reviewing and verifying monthly progress payments.
  • May require other duties.
Requirements

Education & Experience  

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related program at an accredited university.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Front Page, Access (optional), Outlook, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Project or other scheduling software is a plus.
  • Experience with web-based project management tools desired.
  • Some construction/project management or general contracting experience is a plus.

Founded in 1955, OAC provides public and private multi-disciplinary, building consulting services. OAC delivers comprehensive program management, applying proven management techniques to the planning, design, and construction of a project from inception to completion. OAC's building enclosure team designs efficient, complete, and sustainable building enclosure systems. The Forensic Architecture and Engineering practice at OAC provide investigation, repair design, and expert witness consulting on construction litigation and insurance claims.


Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $20/hr up to $25/hr. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
