Position Purpose

The Fabricator/Welder will play a key role in our new Manufacturing department, responsible for the fabrication and welding of metal components. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with various machining and welding techniques and equipment. The candidate will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprint drawings with minimal instruction. Ability to work on multiple projects at once and change priority at moment’s notice to meet production schedule. 


Key Accountabilities for this Position

  • Fabricate and assemble parts according to blueprints, technical drawings and specifications. 
  • Setup and operate various machine shop equipment including saw, lathe, mill, and welder.
  • Plan and organize production schedules to ensure timely manufacturing of parts while optimizing resources and minimizing waste. 
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and adjust as necessary to meet quality targets. 
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and logistics, to coordinate production activities and resolve any issues that may arise. 
  • Maintain inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, and coordinate with purchasing and logistics departments  
  • Collaborating with the Manufacturing team to produce parts and meet deadlines.
  • Analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to increase efficiency and productivity. 
  • Assist with the installation, repair and maintenance of machinery as needed. 
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment. 
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures. 
Requirements

  Desired Characteristics & Skills 

  • Proven experience as a fabricator and welder in a manufacturing or machine shop setting. 
  • The ideal candidate will have a “can do” attitude and be able to work hand in hand with all members of the team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. 
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement. 
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures, with a commitment to creating a safe work environment. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing software systems. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. 
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods of time.

  • Machining: 2+ years

Salary Description
$25-35/hour
