Barton & Loguidice, D.P.C., a multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm of professional engineers, geologists, environmental scientists, architects, and planners, is currently seeking a detail-oriented, hardworking, and self-motivated Environmental Technician for a full-time position in our Albany, NY office.
Duties include:
- Collect water, soil, air, and other environmental samples for laboratory analysis.
- Conduct field inspections and site assessments to monitor environmental conditions and prepare follow-up reports.
- Operate and maintain equipment used for environmental testing and sampling.
- Analyze data from environmental testing and prepare detailed reports.
- Perform field observation of environmental construction projects.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering Technology, or other related field, or a combination of applicable coursework and experience.
- 0-3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel on a routine basis.
- Candidates must have solid computer and writing skills, strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to interface with a variety of clients.
- The willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions and the availability to be assigned to occasional extended field assignments throughout Northeast U.S.
- This position also requires frequent carrying, lifting, and transfer of equipment and supplies. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- The ability to effectively multi-task and work both independently and in a team and environment are important qualities for this position.
- Candidates with their OSHA HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
Estimated Pay Range: $22 – 24/hour.
Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
