Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Load, unload and move filtered materials.
  • Heat or cool and transfer product to different tanks and equipment.
  • Climb stairs and ladders and work from high places
  • Work in cold or hot areas inside and outside of buildings.
  • Clean work area and equipment 
  • Perform quality testing and calculate results.
  • Operate equipment so that it performs efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain records and reports.
  • Maintain finished product and by-product quality.
  • Manage inventories of sludge, brown grease, and water in appropriate storage tanks and maintain records of same.
  • Clean and maintain storage tanks. 
  • Clean and maintain equipment.
  • Operate equipment as instructed.
  • Operate forklift
  • Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner
  • Follow department and company procedures
  • Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company
  • Inform Supervisor daily of equipment overall operation and product quality.
  • Inform Maintenance department of any equipment issues
  • Operate the Centrisys and Dewatering press 
  • Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner
  • Follow department and company procedures
  • Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company
  • Other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the business. These responsibilities may change from time to time are business needs evolve over time.
Requirements

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Professional Certifications, Education, Experience and Travel Requirements

  • Shift M-F 10:30pm to 7:00am
  • Knowledge of production processes and operation of equipment
  • Skill to control equipment and monitor operations of it
  • Ability to move material with or without specialized equipment
  • Certified Forklift Operator
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • 1-year experience in a production setting
  • Local travel; less than 5% overnight travel

Physical Demands/Requirements:

Constantly (over 2/3):

  • Move and transport materials up to 50-60 lbs with or without specialized lifting, moving and rigging equipment
  • Moves across wet/slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to position self to perform duties around industrial equipment

Frequently (1/3-2/3):

  • Exposed to work in outdoor weather conditions
  • Ascends/descends heights while maintaining balance
  • Utilizes tools and equipment such as a shovel to move material
  • Remains in a seated position while using multilimb coordination to operate forklift

Occasionally (under 1/3):

  • Detect and observe conditions that need to be addressed such as equipment that needs to be painted or materials that need to be moved/removed
  • Communicates with staff in the process of performing duties
