Job Summary:

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily operations of the warehouse. This role involves managing the team, ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and dispatching of goods, and maintaining accurate inventory levels. The Warehouse Lead ensures that all operations comply with safety standards and company procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Supervision:

o Lead and supervise a team of warehouse associates in daily tasks such as picking, packing, and shipping orders.

o Train, guide, and mentor staff to ensure high performance and adherence to processes.

o Assign tasks and monitor the productivity and performance of the team.


2. Inventory Management:

o Oversee the accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of products.

o Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records in the warehouse management system (WMS).

o Ensure that stock levels are accurate and report any discrepancies to management.


3. Operations Management:

o Coordinate the loading and unloading of shipments, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing items are processed promptly.

o Ensure the proper use of warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery.

o Organize and maintain the warehouse layout for optimal efficiency.


4. Safety and Compliance:

o Enforce all health, safety, and environmental guidelines within the warehouse.

o Conduct regular safety audits and ensure that all staff adhere to safety protocols.

o Report any safety concerns or incidents to management and take corrective action.

5. Process Improvement:

o Identify opportunities for improving warehouse processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

o Implement new procedures and ensure that staff are trained on any changes.

6. Reporting:

o Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly reports on warehouse performance, including inventory levels, order fulfillment rates, and staffing needs.

o Communicate with management regarding any issues or challenges faced in the warehouse.

Requirements

  

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field is a plus).

· Proven experience in warehouse operations.

· Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control processes.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.

· Forklift certification or the ability to be certified.

· Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.

· Ability to motivate and lead a team.

· Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

· Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects when necessary.

· Strong time management and multitasking skills.


Working Conditions:

· Warehouse environment with exposure to noise, heavy equipment, and varying temperatures.

· Regularly required to lift heavy objects, operate machinery, and stand for extended periods.

· May involve overtime and weekend shifts, depending on workload.

Computer Skills: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, excel spreadsheets, NAV operating system software or equivalent.

Ability to wear the required protective equipment and devices. Have physical ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment.

Salary Description
$27-$29/hour
