Description

The LIHTC Compliance Specialist is fully accountable for all duties assigned by the Compliance Manager / Director. The purpose of the Compliance Specialist is to provide administrative support to the Compliance Manager / Director to ensure efficient processes and training of all staff members.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide training in the use of Yardi, RentCafe and Inspect Check to all new employees and provide ongoing assistance, as required.

• Maintain form compliance by state and program in the RentCafe workflows as well as in SharePoint folders as backup.

• Assist in the review of new move-in, interim certification and annual recertification files to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Communicate with onsite staff regarding discrepancies/deficiencies noted within certification files.

• Attend weekly calls with Asset Managers to support them in managing their properties.

• Prepare and distribute recertification notices as required by the property / programs.

• Support audit and inspection tracking and responses to regulatory and other parties.

• Support rent-up / rehab properties to qualify households for units when required.

• Audit SharePoint compliance for all properties to confirm naming convention and filing of documents are being adhered to.

• Maintain current compliance training in all states and on all programs managed by IMI.

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work responsibilities

• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Strong organizational and planning skills

• Proficient in MS Office

• Knowledge of office management systems and procedures

• Proven administrative or assistant experience

• Discretion and judgment

Requirements

3 years experience in Yardi, RentCafe or other similar platform.

5 years experience in reviewing files and vetting for accuracy.

5 years experience in a supervisory position in the LIHTC industry.

Ability to work independently and efficiently to complete assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
