Summary of the Position
The Internal Communications Lead is responsible for the development and execution of the internal communications strategy for our organization to drive team engagement and strengthen the firm’s culture. You will work closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders to ensure that all internal communication is clear, consistent, and aligned with the company’s goals and values.
With the framework of a recent brand refresh firmly established, the Internal Communications Lead will be responsible for embedding Sequoia’s Built For You brand into the day-to-day operating model at Sequoia. And with Sequoia’s growth trajectory, having the operating structure to reinforce the cultural and team behavior norms is essential for driving Sequoia’s next era of growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the implementation of the internal communications strategy for the organization, including key messaging, communication channels, and tactics.
- Create and deliver internal communications content, including email updates, newsletters, intranet content, videos, and presentations.
- Work with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure that all internal communication is aligned with business objectives and supports the company’s culture and values.
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications, and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure that internal communications are timely and relevant.
- Identify opportunities to promote team member engagement and help foster a positive company culture.
- Manage crisis communications, ensuring all leaders and applicable stakeholders are informed and up-to-date
- Manage and maintain the company’s internal communication tools, ensuring they are up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with the company’s goals and values.
- Manage internal events and other initiatives to promote team engagement and strengthen the company culture.
Required Skills/Experience
- BA/BS
- 10+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or related field
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Strong project management skills
- Experience with content creation and delivery (i.e. email, newsletters, intranet content, videos, and presentations)
- Ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the organization
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proven ability to lead self and others through change
- Effective operating in and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamically changing organization
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Experience managing and maintaining internal communication tools is a plus (MS Outlook, Salesforce, Asana)
