What We’re Looking For
Travelpro is seeking a reliable Distribution Lead to join our Distribution team! In this role, you will promote and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiencies by working as a direct floor leader. This is a self-directed individual with the ability to direct and handle multiple tasks and possesses strong practical and technical skills as well as the ability to communicate in a clear and persuasive manner. Candidates must be available to work overtime hours during the busier times of the year, and when necessary for the business, and must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly.
What You’ll Do
This position will work collaboratively with the Distribution Supervisors to monitor associate’s performance and will coach for improvement in the areas of productivity, quality, safety, and attendance. You will also:
- Be responsible for coordinating activities of associates in distribution processes
- Maintain warehouse stock and assist in fulfilling orders
- Supports and communicates training and development initiatives, policies, procedures and company values to ensure a positive, supportive and productive work environment
- May also adjust work assignments of distribution associates as well as perform those job tasks
- Assists supervisor with setting up daily/weekly work assignments for staff
- Ensures productivity standards are met
- Communicates personal and team KPI's and distribution goals
- Makes recommendations to improve operational flows
- Reassigns staff throughout the day
- Provides feedback through side-by-side coaching and on-the-job training
- Provides information regarding associate performance and concerns to supervisor for appropriate evaluation and action
- Communicates with other leads to ensure a consistent team environment is maintained
- Maintains company housekeeping and safety standards throughout the day
- Maintains an organized work area and ensure that all security and safety procedures are followed
- Identifies critical distribution issues and report them to the leadership team
- Addresses human resources issues, such as attendance; identify behaviors and actions that require disciplinary action and consult with leadership team
- Primarily works in distribution environment, exposure to noise and dust
- While performing duties on the job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk and use of hands, uncontrolled climate changes hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
What You’ll Need
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2+ Manufacturing/Distribution experience in a distribution center. Microsoft Excel proficient
- Excellent attendance to develop a stable work environment within the department
- Strong working knowledge of distribution center operations including familiarity with City, State and Federal regulations. Solid leadership skills, sound judgement and effective organizational administrative skills; working knowledge of all hourly labor laws.
- Personal qualities of time management, integrity, credibility and commitment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of distribution center operations and IT operational technology
- Must have sound judgment, reasonability, and maintain high attention to detail
- Willing to work flexible hours when necessary to support the business requirements
