POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs routine and extensive grounds keeping and conducts building maintenance on YMCA facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Outdoor Grounds Maintenance Venice, Englewood, SKY Englewood Academy, Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte CDC
• Mow all grass areas, edge, trim and blow
• Weed control in all beds
• Mulch as needed
• Trim shrubs and trees as needed
• Install plants and shrubs as needed
• Englewood Soccer Fields
• Follow plan of fertilizing and weed control.
• Venice Baseball Fields
• Mow Baseball Fields
• Maintain Equipment
• Tractors, mowers, etc.
• Irrigation System
• Periodically inspect to ensure all heads are working properly* TBD
• Other
• Assist Maintenance Staff as needed with other duties and projects as required
• Responsible for upholding all staff safety requirements including cleaning protocols throughout the day, as required by my department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Able to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance related areas.
• Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards.
• Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
• Successfully meet the association requirements on background screening.

CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

• Infant/child CPR & First Aid
• Annual completion of YMCA Blood Borne Pathogens training
• Annual completion of YMCA Child Sexual Abuse Prevention class
• Staff Safety Requirements/Cleaning Protocols
• Additional training classes as recommended by supervisor.
