Sigvaris is currently looking for a Sales and Use Tax Specialist to work Part Time (20 hours per week) at our facility in Peachtree City, GA. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Sales and Use Tax Specialist is responsible to ensure Sales and Use Tax compliance and state registration maintenance as well as assisting the Accounting team.
This position is not remote. You need to be in the office 3 days/week. The actual days are flexible; however, in 2 of those days, you need to be in the office from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The 3rd day's schedule is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Files Sales and Use Tax returns in accordance with established deadlines.
• Ensures Sales and Use Tax compliance with all regulatory agencies.
• Files Sales and Use Tax monthly and quarterly returns in various states in accordance with established deadlines.
• Keep abreast of and demonstrates thorough knowledge of all Sales and Use Tax rules and regulations.
• Works with registered agents to keep States active.
• Produces and maintains supporting documentation for monthly/quarterly returns.
• Reviews Nexus Rules and changes in each state in order to ensure compliance in each state.
• Obtains and maintains (updates) exemption certificates for customers in the states we file in.

o Accurately and legibly presents written data to affected internal/external customer.
• Follows established company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SIGVARIS policies, industry standards, ISO 13485 standards, and Federal, State and local laws.
• Follows all work instructions, creates and maintains accurate records to meet all internal and external requirements to support the SIGVARIS Quality System and Quality Policy.
• Accurately performs any other duties and responsibilities as assigned to ensure an efficient workflow.
EDUCATION and WORK EXPERIENCE:
• An associate's degree, preferably in Accounting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sales tax rules and regulations, filing and maintenance.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
• Occasionally required to sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, bend, lift or climb.
• Occasionally required to lift light weights (less than 10 pounds).
• Finger dexterity and hand coordination required.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus.
