The Product Owner (PO) is a key Agile team member responsible for maximizing the value delivered by aligning the team’s backlog with customer and stakeholder needs. Acting as the primary advocate for the customer, the PO connects business and technology strategies to ensure a balanced approach to addressing stakeholder needs while evolving our solutions.


As a Product Owner, you will play a crucial role in driving the development and success of our innovative products in the tax industry. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure the successful delivery of our market-leading solutions.


 Internally, this role is titled Product Owner, Professional.  


 Job Responsibilities/Duties: 

  • Work with internal and external customers to analyze the needs and align project roadmap to strategic goals
  • Develop scope and define backlog items (epic/features/user stories) that guide the Agile software development team
  • Elaborate/refine/accept stories and epics to foster built in quality and assist the agile development team to deliver value
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with a maximum value that are aligned with project strategy
  • Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation.
  • Participate in Team and ART events
  • Collaborate with stakeholders throughout development stages including planning, refinement, review, and sprint
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience implementing enterprise SaaS applications
  • Proven experience in managing product backlogs, defining user stories, and prioritizing features.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and ability to apply agile principles in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.


OR


  • 2+ years Property Tax collections, Integrated Tax, or applicable business domain and business process subject matter expertise
  • Experience developing requirements with stakeholders, developing user stories, managing product backlog refinement with the development team


 Desired/Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably in the tax industry.
  • Experience in using project management and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) to manage product development processes.
  • SAFe PO/PM Certification


 Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

RSI determines pay range based upon numerous compensation factors, including experience, skill set, and geographic location. A current and reasonable estimated range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000. However, it’s possible for an individual to be hired at a salary outside of this range.
