Description

 The Laser and Press Brake operator will successfully program and complete work orders in a timely and safe manner. The operator is responsible for keeping the machines clean and presentable. Basic and preventative maintenance will be performed by the operator. They will work closely with the maintenance department to diagnose and fix more major issues with the machines.  


This is a 2nd shift position, Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. to midnight. Any Saturday work is based on business need and is voluntary. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Read, interpret and understand blueprint drawings. 
  • Identify appropriate materials for the job, including the ability to check the type, size, quantity, and quality. 
  • Perform Basic machine maintenance and cleaning. 
  • Load and unload material with the use of a Forklift 
  • Perform quality checks to the operator process sheets 
  • Modify cut conditions, speeds, feeds and focus to ensure quality cut, optimal machine operation, and efficiency with both oxygen and nitrogen. 
  • Ability to program and nest parts to fully utilize material. 
  • Deburr and vibe parts as needed 
  • Attentiveness to details with a strong desire for precision and accuracy when executing job duties. 
  • Load, install and correctly set up the tools required. 
  • Move material from location to location physically and in Epicor 
  • Use of Epicor, our inventory management system. Inform planner of discrepancies 
  • Monitor gas levels and advise maintenance and management when low. 
  • Communicate with engineering staff on development and R&D jobs 
  • Adhere to ISO process and procedures 
  • Weekly checklist 
  • 1st piece inspection approved

Requirements


  • Education HS Diploma or Equivalent 
  • Experience and/or Training Minimum 1 year in a manufacturing environment. Press brake experience a plus  
  • Licenses/Certificates Forklift Certified (18000lb), First Piece Inspection Certified (internal Training) 
  • Technology/Equipment Windows based PC experience, BySoft7, Bystronic HMI, Bystronic CO2 Laser, Bystronic Hydraulic Press Brake, Vibratory deburring
