What You’ll Do:

As the Hardware Technician you will assist with coordination and execution of standardized laboratory testing to aid in the development of high-quality consumer robotics products that meet customer needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs EV/DV/PV tests, gathers data, and writes results/reports with assistance from Hardware Test Engineer and Quality Engineering, utilizing various types of electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Contributes to test plan creation from Engineering Requirements Document and works closely with System Test engineers.
  • Reads schematics, assembly drawings, data sheets, and process sheets to perform testing, build fixtures, check out and trouble-shoot equipment.
  • Responsible for failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming manufactured products to determine root causes.
  • Supports testing at third party labs at their site as needed.
  • Be part of building out our test lab. This includes but is not limited to defining test equipment, building test fixtures and defining test plans.
  • Responsible for tracking custom customer projects and managing data & reports.
  • Develops standard operating procedures for DV & PV test labs to use during the workday.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations to support all Hardware Lab activities.
  • Troubleshoots particularly complex testing issues.
  • Assists in cross functional discussion relating testing results and production processes.
  • Assists the Systems Test Engineer with preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring PC performance.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of hardware and equipment contracts? 
  • Performs onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users and recommend/implement corrective hardware solutions.
  • Monitors and tests PC performance and provides PC performance statistics and reports.
  • Constructs, install, and test customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems. 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Four-Year, Two-year technical Degree and/or equivalent related work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in an engineering laboratory.
  • Experience in PCBA troubleshooting and repair. 
  • Experience maintaining electronics measurement equipment. 
  • Demonstrated aptitude for electronics handling and measurement. 
  • Ability and willingness to complete testing replicating animal waste. 
  • An ability to provide and accept coaching, direction, and feedback in a constructive manner
  • Able to follow directions, use hand and power tools.
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
  • A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
  • Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs) 

Not Required but Nice to Have!

  • Robotics experience, test and design.
