Position Summary:
- RV Technicians do a little bit of everything: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, etc. If you can do any one of these, we’ll teach you the rest! To get started as a new RV tech in our dealership, you don’t need specific RV experience, but you do need to be handy, responsible, and professional. A successful RV Technician must be dedicated, have the ability to diagnose and fix problems, and have a focus on quality.
Essential Functions:
- Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry and appliance maintenance
- Ensure that the final work product meets quality standards
- Examine and diagnose RV problems
- Discuss repairs with shop foreman or RV service advisor
- Communicate additional service requests to RV service advisor
- Plan work procedures in cooperation with shop foreman
- Provide labor time estimates to RV service advisor
- Monitor repair time and update RV service advisor regularly
- Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on RV care and operation
- Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs
- Attend company trainings as required
- Keep current with factory technical bulletins
- Communicate with all departments when more information needed or when problems arise
- Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste)
Requirements
Education, Experience and Work Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- RVIA certification preferred but not required
- State Inspection License is preferred but not required
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to diagnose and fix electrical, heating, plumbing, and hydraulic systems
- Construction skills to repair water damaged units
- Must have own tools appropriate to skill level
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with clean, insurable, driving record
- Certification in trade fields such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, are a plus!
- Experience preferred in one of the following categories:
- Boat: Exteriors
- Boat: Interiors
- Carpentry
- Cars
- Electrical Systems
- Fiberglass
- High and Low Voltage Systems
- HVAC
- Hydraulics
- Plumbing
- Propane Systems
- RVs
- Welding
Salary Description
$17 to $45 based on experience
