Job Summary: The Cast Specialist is a versatile role within the Entertainment Department, focusing on both performance and production support. This position assists with the development, coordination, and execution of live shows and special events, supporting the Entertainment Manager in various pre-production, rehearsal, and performance tasks. The Cast Specialist will work hands-on with cast members, participate in rehearsals, assist with choreography, and ensure a seamless performance experience for guests. Emphasizing character development and guest engagement, this role supports the Entertainment Manager’s creative vision and contributes to a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Entertainment Manager to organize and execute pre-production activities.
- Coordinate and prepare materials, props, and other resources as needed for rehearsal and production phases.
- Support character development, performance style, and engagement techniques during rehearsals.
- Lead and support rehearsals, assisting with choreography, technique, style, and showmanship.
- Work with the Entertainment Manager to ensure artistic integrity and consistency across performances.
- Perform alongside the cast as required, delivering high-quality, immersive experiences to guests.
- Engage in cast training to reinforce safety, professionalism, and performance consistency.
- Communicate effectively with the cast to reinforce expectations and motivate high standards of performance.
- Maintain regular feedback loops with cast members to monitor and support their development.
- Ensure readiness of all entertainment elements before showtime.
- Track and manage assets, props, and materials to support smooth transitions between events.
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for cast members, upholding OTE's values and policies while advising management on any concerns related to cast well-being.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Skill and Work Experience Requirements:
- Ability to work long hours, especially during peak production times, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the entertainment schedule.
- Prior experience in live performance, acting, or entertainment production.
- Prior work in theme park events and non-traditional performance environments (preferred).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating self-motivation and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with safety protocols in a performance environment.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptive to an ever-changing environment.
- Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and late hours as production schedule may dictate.
- Commitment to working under shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
Work Environment:
- Ability to stand and walk, even at a fast pace, on uneven surfaces or terrain.
- Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions, working both indoors and outdoors.
- Dynamic and fast-paced setting, requiring quick adaptability.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of the event schedule.
