Lathrop GPM, one of the nation's leading law firms, has an immediate opening for an experienced Litigation Paralegal in our Minneapolis, MN location. This position will provide litigation/trial paralegal support to attorneys and to the firm to assist in management of client relationships and the practice of law. The position is hybrid and will work two days a week in our Minneapolis Office and three days from a home office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Experienced trial paralegal
  • Handle complex document management using firm software; assist with electronic document production and organizing onto common platforms for attorney review
  • Provide in court technical and administrative support 
  • Edits and proofread document for accuracy and compliance with applicable federal and state statutes and local rules 
  • Assist with trial preparation including preparation of exhibits, exhibit lists, witness lists, and demonstratives including PowerPoint presentation
  • Support with discovery requests including subpoenas, interrogatories, request for productions, and others
  • Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties
  • Support with drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate documents; file same with State or Federal court
Requirements

  

  • Formal paralegal training from an accredited program, preferably a four-year degree program
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working as a litigation paralegal in a law firm
  • Significant trial experience
  • Experience in commercial and complex litigation, helpful
  • Proficiency in e-discovery including experience with litigation technology systems, specifically, with Relativity, Case Notebook, OnCue, and/or Agile Law
  • Willingness to learn new software applications as required
  • Ability to conduct legal research utilizing online tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc. 
  • Basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite check legal motions and memorandum
  • Must be a team player and possess the ability to work effectively and efficiently in high pressure, time sensitive situations
  • Excellent written and communications skills with attention to detail
  • Intermediate technical knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ability to work with files in Portable Document Format; and ability to use client management databases, billing and docketing software and document management systems
  • Organized, self-motivated professional
  • Creative in finding solutions using existing technology to meet user demands
  • Willingness to work in the office environment for at least 2 days each week and as needed to meet client needs
