The Gist…
We are seeking a motivated and talented Product Owner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have functional experience operating as a product owner for a major application. This role works directly with HRM PPA&E clients and the recruitment team, focused on requirements gathering and stakeholder management for HRM’s Recruitment App. While technical experience is valuable, this role is functional in nature, and this resource will not be doing any technical development.
What Your Day Might Include…
- Responsible for gathering requirements, prioritizing requirements as aligned to HRM priorities, strategically managing the backlog with a team of developers, and briefing executive leadership on the status of the Recruitment App.
- Facilitate requirement gathering sessions to understand business objectives with users/HRM team members and relay to developers.
- Conduct user feedback sessions to understand their needs and pain points.
- Consolidate requirements across multiple divisions to ensure no duplication of efforts and comprehensive capture of requirements.
- Support the development team with backlog prioritization and adjustment, aligned with CBP and HRM priorities.
- Maintain and refine the product backlog, ensuring it is up-to-date and clearly communicated to the development team.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure requirements are understood and feasible.
- Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and the development team.
- Engage with HRM leadership to present progress, strategic vision, and intake leadership priorities.
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership on the status of the Recruitment App.
- Facilitate meetings and presentations to communicate progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Develop and maintain a product roadmap aligned with HRM’s strategic goals.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the
- Ensure alignment of the Recruitment App with overall HRM objectives and strategies.
- Work closely with designers, developers, and other team members to deliver high-quality products.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment within the team.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications…
- US Citizenship Required to obtain Public Trust
- DHS CBP Public Trust Preferred
- Bachelor Degree +6 years of experience, with preferably 4+ years of experience in a Product Owner or related role, preferably within HR or recruitment applications.
- Previous product manager experience.
- Proven track record of successfully gathering and prioritizing requirements for software development projects.
- Proficiency in tools such as MS Visio, MS Excel, MS Teams, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, Miro, and Mural.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and practices.
- Salesforce experience is helpful
- Must be an excellent facilitator.
- Strong with clients and client relationship management.
- Strategic and big picture oriented to align requirements to broader HRM goals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and improve existing skills.
