Description

  

The Senior Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations will play a critical role in Clarke’s development strategy by cultivating and managing relationships with foundations and corporate partners. This individual will lead efforts to secure funding, oversee grant writing processes, and develop strategic initiatives to expand the organization’s financial support from philanthropy and corporate sponsorships.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for engaging with foundations and corporate partners to advance the organization’s mission and fundraising goals.
  • Set specific, measurable goals for foundation and corporate fundraising efforts.

Fundraising and Grant Management:

  • Identify and research potential funding sources, including foundations and corporations.
  • Manage the entire grant application process, including writing proposals, submitting applications, and tracking deadlines.
  • Prepare detailed reports and proposals for funders to demonstrate impact and effectiveness of programs.

Relationship Building:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing foundation and corporate partners to enhance their engagement with the organization.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for foundation and corporate inquiries.
  • Engage in networking opportunities to promote the organization and identify new funding opportunities.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with program directors and other staff to create funding proposals that align with organizational goals and funders’ interests.
  • Communicate the organization’s mission, programs, and impact effectively to potential funders.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with all grant agreements, including submission of required reports and updates to funders.
  • Regularly assess and report on progress towards foundation and corporate fundraising goals.

Leadership:

  • Mentor and supervise the development team, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills in donor relations and fundraising.
  • Stay informed about trends and best practices in the field of philanthropy and corporate giving.
Requirements

  

  • Master’s degree preferred in Nonprofit Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, or development, with a proven track record of securing significant funding.
  • Strong understanding of foundation and corporate giving trends and practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal  communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and reports.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in fundraising software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Salary Description
$100,000 - $120,000 /annually
