Position Overview:
The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for managing and processing payroll for Storage Solutions using Paylocity as our HRIS system. This role involves overseeing weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for all employees. The Payroll Coordinator will work closely with HR, finance, and other departments to maintain payroll integrity and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all employee groups in accordance with company policies and applicable labor laws.
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of employee records in Paylocity, including new hires, terminations, and changes in pay or status.
- Review and reconcile payroll discrepancies, including timecard issues, leave balances, and overtime calculations.
- Maintain accurate employee information, including deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports, ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions in a timely and professional manner.
- Reconcile and audit 401k contributions in a timely manner.
- Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and tax reporting.
- Assist with annual audits related to payroll and ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Utilize certified payroll experience to ensure compliance with specific government contracting requirements when applicable.
- Audit quarterly state tax deposits and manage state registrations when applicable
- Stay current with payroll regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Support the implementation and testing of new payroll features and system updates within Paylocity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a mid to large-sized organization.
- Proficient in using Paylocity or similar HRIS systems; strong Excel skills are a plus.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including certified payroll processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple payroll batches simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with employees and management.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
