Description

QRC Technologies is actively seeking a Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design Intern. The Mechanical Engineering Intern will have opportunities to help build and design the next generation of QRC's software defined radio products.


You will experience the triumphs and challenges of working on a fast-paced Integrated Product Team (IPT). You will experience the joy of requirements reviews, design parts and assemblies in SolidWorks and create drawings to document them; identify components; assemble prototypes or test stacks; test components; prepare supporting documentation and troubleshoot or remedy system malfunctions. You will use 3D printers, CAD applications such as SolidWorks, basic machine and hand tools. You will be trained to operate a variety of software tools to collaborate with the teams. You will be exposed to software defined radios, agile development processes, and gain experience working in a multidisciplinary integrated product team.


You will be teamed with other interns from various Engineering and Products Management disciplines to create the prototype of a product that has the potential to impact our customer base.


Requirements
  • Familiarity with Computer Aided Design applications, basic machine and hand tools and techniques, lab safety.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes that may be used to create our products; machining, sheet metal, 3D printing; thermal propagation and design techniques, engineering design standards such as SAE, ANSI, etc.
  • Ability to read technical engineering documents such as process descriptions and procedure manuals, technical drawings and other technical documents.
  • Frequently move products and test equipment weighing up to 50lbs across the labs for varying test needs
  • Student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design.
  • College Junior or Senior, or a Sophomore with the recommendation from a professor of Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Proficient is use of Microsoft Office
  • Due to Federal Industrial Security requirements proof of US citizenship is required.
