Servatron, a Volex Company, is excited to grow our Process Technician team. We are looking for a technician that embraces opportunities and continuously questions the status quo. The Process Technician will program, test, troubleshoot and repair production equipment, tooling and support equipment, assist in the training of other technicians, support engineers as requested, and create status reports and summarize findings. This position will mainly focus on SMT (Surface Mount Technology). There will be some support required in our Cables and Final Assembly areas as well.

• Working Conditions are: 80% Manufacturing environment, 15% Office environment; 5% outdoors.
• Noise level is moderate in office environment.
• Hearing protection must be worn in designated manufacturing areas.
• Fully enclosed shoes, leather construction, must be worn in all manufacturing areas.
• Safety glasses (ANSI Z87 compliant) required in all manufacturing areas.
Specific duties and responsibilities
• Complete preventative maintenance, as required.
• Perform routine calibration, repair, and troubleshooting of SMT equipment
• Create equipment programs for PCBAs and perform de-bugging required to maintain expected quality and yields.
• Assist in continuous improvement and process implementation activities.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) including Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis
• Support installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) activities
• Monitor and ensure process capability and quality
• Provide technical expertise to the quoting, engineering, and production teams
• Investigate and initiate corrective action in the SMT department
• Optimize processes and equipment in SMT department
• Document procedures and machine work instructions
• Assist Engineers and Technicians in other areas including Selective Solder, Hand Solder, Conformal Coating, Cable Fabrication,
and Final Assembly
• Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Test Engineers, Production, and the Process Engineer/Techs
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment

Qualifications - Minimum
• 2 years' experience in SMT
• Familiar with SMT Placement machine programming and maintenance
• Aptitude for learning a variety of programming software and databases
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimum supervision
• Familiarity with IPC-610 and J-Std-001
• Self-motivation to attain and surpass set goals, adapt to change and Make decisions independently.
• Proficient in verbal and written English
Qualifications – Preferred
• Knowledgeable in Stencil Design, ODB+ file importing, and panel design
• Fixture design experience
• SMT Process development experience
• Experience using automated equipment in an Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment.
• Background in Lean Manufacturing
• Certified in SMTA Processes
• IPC-610 and/or J-Std-001 certified
• Experience in Selective Solder, Hand Solder, Conformal Coating, Cable Fabrication, and Final Assembly
