Position Summary
The Billing Clerk will support the Accounting operations team by compiling data, computing fees, charges, and processing incoming documents. The position is responsible for processing accurate invoices with timely distribution of invoices and reports and maintaining accounting records. This position is required to exercise judgment, set priorities and schedule work to meet deadlines.
Essential Functions:
- Process and confirm accuracy of incoming reports
- Perform general office duties, such as filing, answering telephones and handling routine correspondence in a timely fashion to guarantee satisfaction
- Locate, record and notify customers of delinquent accounts
- Prepare and generate accurate invoices in a timely fashion to meet customer needs
- Prepare and generate accurate monthly/weekly reporting
- Contribute to biweekly team meetings
- Document and notify consultants for missing reporting
- Meet productivity standards as set up by the R3 Accounting department
Other Essential Functions:
- Work on special projects as assigned by Director Accounting or Billing Supervisor
- Participates in department and company meetings, as requested
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Overtime/Additional Hours – There are times in which overtime/additional hours will be mandatory due to an increase in work and the need to meet turnaround time frames
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Adept at using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
- Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines when faced with multiple interruptions and sometimes stressful situations
- Can confidently establish priorities based on workload, focusing on attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to analyze and problem-solve issues to identify areas of process improvement and increase efficiencies
- Able to work independently and handle and resolve problems on own, but also know when to collaborate with staff and be a team player
- Ability to assess the importance and relevance of information and effectively and efficiently share information and relevant detail to the appropriate person(s)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, clinicians, vendors and staff
- Courteous and professional demeanor while demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment to company vision and mission
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills
Education & Licensing
- High School Diploma required
Experience
- One + years in a similar role, preferred
Physical Work Requirements
Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by
noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
